Nau do Cacau® invites everyone to embark on a journey around the world through the taste of artisanal and organic chocolates. We have gathered exceptional cocoas and ingredients to create chocolates with unique flavors that are as environmentally sustainable as possible. Our products are crafted in a small certified artisanal production in Leiria, with all the care and dedication we aim to convey to everyone who tastes our chocolates.

OUR PRODUCT

Nau do Cacau® chocolates stand out for the use of organic ingredients, making them a special product as only 2% of cocoa produced worldwide is organically certified.

We insist on using only the best varieties of cocoa, sourced from select origins worldwide, chosen for their quality and rarity.

All other ingredients, such as hazelnuts from Turkey, ginger from Fiji, pepper from Jamaica and coffee from Colombia, undergo a similarly careful selection process to achieve an exceptional product.

With an intense flavor, it is an ethical and high-quality product.

It is well-known that continuous exposure to chemicals used in conventional agriculture is harmful to our health (and the environment).

Hence, the preference for organic cultivation, without the use of pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic chemical fertilizers. This results in high-quality chocolate, free from toxic residues and with a purer taste.

The production of organic chocolate also supports the preservation of genetic diversity in cocoa varieties, which is important for maintaining the richness of flavors.

All Nau do Cacau® products are organically certified, monitored by an accredited entity: Kiwa Sativa (PT-BIO-03).

The production of organic chocolate follows more sustainable agricultural practices, aiming to preserve soil biodiversity, promote water conservation and protect natural ecosystems. Additionally, organic methods help reduce soil and water pollution. There is, therefore, a reduction in the waste of natural resources, contributing to environmental preservation.

Simultaneously, organic standards encourage fair payment and suitable working conditions for producers, who are also free from contact with toxic chemicals.

Our chocolate is produced respecting social standards and contributing to the avoidance of child labor in cocoa plantations.

Furthermore, our packaging is 100% compostable (except mini-tablets)!

Our products are handmade, crafted, shaped and packaged manually, paying attention to every detail of each package.

The artisanal production of chocolate has several advantages compared to industrially produced chocolate on a large scale, including:

The artisanal production of our chocolate bars is guaranteed by the Artisan Production Unit Chart and Artisan Chart we possess, issued by CEARTE, in accordance with applicable national legislation.

Our chocolates, unlike industrially manufactured ones, may show slight differences, highlighting the manual craftsmanship.

Located in Leiria, we seek the best organic cocoa in the world.

Nau do Cacau® is a Portuguese brand and our chocolate bars are handmade in Portugal.

We prefer national partners for various services and suppliers, such as our packaging, which are all produced in Portugal.
